We have a mixed herd of dairy cows - Fresian, Ayreshire, Jersey, Guernsy and MRI with the use of Fresian and MRI bulls to breed replacements and a Hereford bull to produce a few beef cattle too.
The decision to convert both farms to organic production was made in 1999 and Certification with Organic Farmers and Growers was completed in 2001. Organic milk is marketed through the farmer's co-operative Milk Link.

The excess from the Hereford herd are sold as Hereford Organic Beef to local farm shops and local family butchers, rather than the large supermarkets.
This reduces travelling time for the animals and we get good feedback from our customers.
